Sustainable Global Competence in Swiss Higher Education

Marking the end of our Movetia-funded project Developing a Sustainable Global Competence Certificate in Switzerland, the Swiss Global Competence Lab is excited to host an international symposium entitled Sustainable Global Competence in Swiss Higher Education. Swiss Global Training Days 2025-26
Due to the success of our inaugural Swiss Global Training Days 2023-24, we are excited to announce an updated compilation of workshops for higher education employees wishing to advance innovation in various topics pertaining to the internationalization in higher education.
A mix of onsite and online workshops, our program aims to reach higher education employess from Switzerland and beyond.
Publication: Virtual Exchange and its Role in Global Competence Development
As part of a workpackage in our Movetia-funded project Developing a Sustainable Global Competence Certificate in Switzerland, the SGCL is happy to share an abbreviated guide for successful virtual exchange projects. Based on a literature review and focus group discussions with Virtual Exchange pioneers from our four member institutions, this leaflet outlines key considerations in VE design.
«ConnectEurasia: Designing Collaborative Online Learning for Sustainability»
The Swiss Global Competence Lab is happy to share that it is supporting several project activities in the Movetia funded project «ConnectEurasia: Designing Collaborative Online Learning for Sustainability». The project is headed by the Haute École Spécialisée de Suisse Occidentale (HES-SO)/ Haute École de Gestion Arc (HEG Arc), collaborating with colleagues from Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Kazakhstan, and Shanghai University, School of Management, in China. The main goal of this project is to develop an innovative course concept following the project-based learning method in order to develop students’ global competences and to teach students relevant knowledge pertaining to the Eurasian market, with a focus on sustainability. Furthermore, the objective is to develop the Swiss Eurasian Center for Management (created at HEG Arc in 2022) and design it as a hub for students, higher education institutions, and organizations from the private sectors to foster further collaboration between partnering regions.
